Quick vs Advanced: Launch Your First Solana Token

Most first-time creators lose time on one question before they even have a name: how much of this do I need to decide right now? SolFoundry splits the answer into two launch modes. Quick Launch takes two steps and makes the trust decisions for you. Advanced Launch takes three and hands them to you.

Here is what separates them, which one fits your first token, and every step from idea to live token.

Both modes create the same kind of token, with the same permanent metadata and the same record on-chain. The difference is how many decisions you make along the way.

You can also switch modes partway through. A toggle stays at the top of the flow. Moving from Advanced to Quick tells you which settings will reset before anything changes.

Which Mode Should You Pick?

Choose Quick Launch if this is your first token, you are launching a meme, or you want a setup buyers can trust without having to study it. Revoked authorities are what most buyers look for first, and Quick gives you all three without a single toggle.

Choose Advanced Launch if you need a split Quick does not offer, like a community allocation, or if you have a concrete reason to keep an authority. That might be a planned metadata update or a roadmap that really does need future minting.

Not sure? Start with Quick. If you find you need more control, the toggle takes you to Advanced without losing your name, symbol or logo.

Keeping mint or freeze authority is a real choice with a real cost. Buyers and rug checkers will see it on-chain, and many will treat it as a red flag. Only keep one if you can explain why.

What You Need Before You Start

  • A name, a symbol and a logo. Or pay for AI ideas and get all three drafted.
  • A Solana wallet with SOL, such as Phantom, Solflare or Backpack. You only have to connect it to generate AI ideas or to launch, so you can fill in everything else first.
  • Enough SOL for the launch. That is the platform fee plus network costs, which come to roughly 0.02 SOL or less. The Review step shows the exact total before you sign anything.

Liquidity is a separate step and a separate cost. More on that below.

How to Launch With Quick Launch

Step 1: The Idea

Everything fits on one screen. Add a logo, a name and a symbol, plus a description if you want one. Open Links & Socials to add your website, X and Telegram. Do that now, because Quick locks the metadata at launch and links cannot be added afterwards.

Below that, pick a Launch Model:

  • Fair Launch: 100% of the supply goes to your wallet.
  • Standard Meme: 90% to your wallet and 10% to a reserve wallet you provide.

Supply, decimals and token standard start at 1 billion tokens, 6 decimals and Token-2022, and you can change them in the settings row. If Next is unavailable, press it anyway. It tells you what is missing and takes you to the first field that needs attention.

Step 2: One-Click Launch

Review the token, the trust settings and the receipt, then press Launch and approve it in your wallet. Everything happens in one transaction: the mint, the supply, the metadata and the authority revocation.

How to Launch With Advanced Launch

Step 1: Token Identity

Fill in the same public details as Quick. Press Generate with AI if you would rather start from ideas. An AI generation costs 0.05 SOL and returns three ideas, each with a name, symbol, description and artwork. You can use one with a single click, and the form comes back filled in, with the artwork as your logo.

Small (i) icons next to each field explain what it does and what the limits are.

Step 2: The Setup

This is where Advanced earns its name. Set the supply and decimals, then choose a Launch Model:

ModelYour walletReserveCommunity

Standard Meme90%10%0%
Community First80%10%10%
CustomYou decideYou decideYou decide

The Allocation Preview shows the split as you change it. Reserve and community wallet fields only appear when those allocations are above zero.

Further down the same step, Anti-Rug Controls decide what happens to each authority. The default revokes mint, freeze and metadata authority, the same as Quick. The Live Trust Preview shows what buyers will read from your choices. Below, the Flexible preset keeps all three authorities, and the preview warns about each one.

Step 3: Review & Launch

Check every setting and the receipt. Press Launch, approve in your wallet, and your token is on-chain in one transaction.

Your Token Is Live. Now What?

This part surprises first-time creators: your token cannot be traded yet. A launch creates the token and nothing else. People can only buy it once it has a liquidity pool.

That is deliberate. On SolFoundry, adding liquidity is a separate choice you make after launch:

  1. Open Liquidity Lock, which is linked from your success screen.
  2. Decide how much SOL to add, and put most of your supply in the pool. Tokens you keep show up as one large holder on every rug check.
  3. Choose your anti-sniper settings. That protection belongs to the pool, so this is where you set it.
  4. Press Create Pool + Lock Liquidity. SolFoundry creates a Meteora pool and permanently locks it in one transaction.

The success screen also links to Meteora and Raydium if you prefer to manage the pool yourself. Those are advanced alternatives, and locking is then up to you.

Our guide on what to do after launching covers this in more detail, and how much liquidity to add helps with the amounts. Then run your token through the free Rug Check to see what buyers will see.

The clean first launch in one line: revoke all three authorities, keep a simple split, then permanently lock your liquidity.

FAQ

What is the difference between Quick and Advanced launch?

Quick Launch has two steps, costs 0.20 SOL and always revokes mint, freeze and metadata authority. Advanced Launch has three steps, costs 0.30 SOL and lets you choose those authorities and a custom distribution.

Which launch mode is best for a first Solana token?

For most people, Quick Launch. It makes the trust decisions buyers care about most and needs the fewest choices. Pick Advanced if you need a community allocation, a custom split or a specific authority setting.

How much does it cost to launch a Solana token on SolFoundry?

0.20 SOL for Quick or 0.30 SOL for Advanced, plus network costs of roughly 0.02 SOL or less. The Review step shows your exact total before you sign. Early Supporters pay no platform fee on their first launch while slots remain. AI ideas and Solo Creator Attribution are optional extras.

Do I need to connect a wallet to start?

No. You can fill in the whole flow without one. You only need a wallet to generate AI ideas or to launch.

Is my token tradable right after launch?

No. It needs a liquidity pool first. Create and lock one through Liquidity Lock after launch.

Can I change my token's details after launching?

If you revoked metadata authority, which Quick always does, your name, symbol, logo and links are final. Check them carefully on the Review step.
