What is a rug pull on Solana?

A rug pull is when a token creator drains value or blocks holders from selling after buyers arrive — by minting unlimited new supply, freezing wallets, or pulling liquidity from the pool. On Solana most rugs are preventable, because the warning signs are visible on-chain before you buy.

How do I check if a Solana token is safe?

Ticker squatting is when a new token launches using the exact name and symbol of an existing, often more established, project on a different mint address — betting that buyers search by name instead of verifying the mint. It only fires on the copy; checking the original stays clean.
