Fair Launch Window

Delay trading on your pool after creation — anywhere from 30 seconds to 60 minutes. The pool is live on-chain, but swaps stay locked until your activation timestamp, so block-0 snipers cannot front-run your launch.

What it does

When you create a Meteora DAMM v2 pool with the Fair Launch Window enabled, the pool is published on-chain immediately but trading is paused until a future activation timestamp you set. Wallets, DEX aggregators, and explorers can index the pool right away — but no one can swap until the window closes.

  • Pool exists on-chain from the moment of creation (price, liquidity, position visible)
  • Swap instructions revert until the activation timestamp is reached
  • On-chain countdown visible to anyone who reads the pool account
  • Stacks with Anti-Sniper Protection for layered defense

Presets

  • 1 min — Standard guerrilla launch (community already watching)
  • 5 min — Recommended default (covers most public launches)
  • 30 min — Announced launch (gives followers time to wake up)
  • Custom — any value between 30 seconds and 60 minutes

Why these limits?

  • Below 30 seconds: indexers and explorers have not picked up the pool yet, so the delay adds zero social benefit
  • Above 60 minutes: MEV searchers have time to set up dedicated infrastructure, which favors pros over retail and defeats the purpose
  • The sweet spot for most launches is 1 to 10 minutes — long enough to be unraceable, short enough to keep momentum

How to enable it

On the Liquidity Lock page, after configuring your token and SOL amounts, toggle Fair Launch Window. Pick a preset or set a custom delay. The activation timestamp is computed at the moment you sign the transaction (now + delay).

Both Anti-Sniper Protection and Fair Launch Window are configured atomically in the same transaction that creates and locks your pool. There are no separate fees for either feature.

Why pair it with Anti-Sniper Protection?

The Fair Launch Window blocks all trades during the delay. Once trading opens, Anti-Sniper Protection kicks in with high decaying fees. Combined, block-0 bots cannot buy at all, and any bot that races the timer pays a heavy fee that goes back to your locked liquidity. Real buyers who wait a few minutes barely notice the difference.
