Does Moonshot lock liquidity?

Moonshot (now Moonit) at a glance

Status
Rebranded from Moonshot to Moonit; the legacy FAQ says so directly. DefiLlama shows a few hundred dollars of revenue in Q3 2026. Not to be confused with DEX Screener's consumer trading app also called Moonshot.
Launch model
Bonding curve with two variants. Classic: graduates when about 80% of the 1B supply is sold (about 88 SOL collected, about 431 SOL market cap). Flat: graduates at about 49% sold with a creator-set liquidity target of at least 25 SOL.
Destination DEX
Creator chooses at launch: Raydium or Meteora DAMM v2.
Liquidity after graduation
Raydium route: LP burned. Meteora route: LP permanently locked; 90% of the position's fee rewards airdropped to the top 50 holders and 10% to the creator ("AirLock"). Legacy FAQ: "All liquidity is locked forever."
Supply at graduation
Classic curve burns leftover supply at migration. About 17.5% creator allocation vests over 12 months with a 2-day cliff in Jupiter Lock.
Authorities
Legacy FAQ: ownership renounced, immutable, audited by Ackee Blockchain. Current Moonit docs are silent; verify per token.
Fees
Trading 1%, split 80% creator and 20% platform; the platform also takes 20% of LP rewards. Migration fee 6 SOL to Raydium (1 Raydium, 3 OpenBook, 2 Moonit) or 3 SOL to Meteora.

Same promise, two mechanisms

Moonit's docs promise locked liquidity on both routes, but the on-chain shape differs. On Raydium the migration mints LP tokens and burns them; the pool then earns fees for no one. On Meteora DAMM v2 the migration creates a permanently locked position, and because a locked position keeps accruing fees, Moonit redistributes those rewards: 90% to the token's top 50 holders and 10% to the creator, minus the platform's 20% cut.

For a buyer both routes answer the core question the same way: nobody can withdraw the pool's principal. The Meteora route additionally creates an ongoing yield stream, which is the feature Moonit markets.

What to know about older Moonshot tokens

Tokens graduated under the original Moonshot brand followed the same Classic curve and a 432 SOL graduation market cap per the legacy FAQ. In June 2025 Meteora disclosed that some DAMM v2 pools displayed as locked actually had unlocked liquidity and worked with DEX Screener to fix the display; how that applied to individual Moonshot migrations is not documented, which is one more reason to read the lock badge on the Meteora pool itself.

How to verify it yourself

Don't take this page's word for it, or the launchpad's. Everything below is readable on-chain in a couple of minutes.

  1. 1Check the mint on Solscan: Mint Authority none, Freeze Authority none. Many Moonshot mints end in "moon", but the suffix is not a rule.
  2. 2Identify the pool. A Raydium AMM v4 pool is owned by 675kPX9MHTjS2zt1qfr1NYHuzeLXfQM9H24wFSUt1Mp8; a Meteora DAMM v2 pool by cpamdpZCGKUy5JxQXB4dcpGPiikHawvSWAd6mEn1sGG.
  3. 3Raydium route: open the LP mint and confirm the supply was burned in the migration transaction.
  4. 4Meteora route: open meteora.ag/dammv2/<pool> and read the lock badge; on-chain, compare permanent_locked_liquidity with unlocked_liquidity on the position.

FAQ

Is Moonshot the same as Moonit?

Yes. The launchpad previously branded Moonshot by DEX Screener now operates as Moonit at moon.it, and its legacy FAQ states "Moonshot is now Moonit." DEX Screener separately runs a consumer trading app called Moonshot, which is a different product.

Is Moonshot liquidity burned or locked?

Burned if the creator chose Raydium at launch, permanently locked if they chose Meteora. In both cases the principal cannot be withdrawn. On Meteora the fee rewards from the locked position are airdropped to top holders and the creator.

Is Moonit still active?

Barely. DefiLlama shows revenue in the hundreds of dollars for Q3 2026. The docs and site are live, and existing graduated pools keep working regardless of platform activity.

Checking a specific Moonshot (now Moonit) token?

Paste its mint address into our free Rug Check. It reads mint, freeze and metadata authorities, liquidity depth and holder concentration straight from chain, for any Solana token regardless of where it launched.

Launching your own? SolFoundry seeds a Meteora DAMM v2 pool and permanently locks 100% of the position in the same flow, with mint and freeze authorities revoked and an anti-sniper fee schedule on the pool. Details on Liquidity Lock and what to look for in a launchpad.
